Some people claim that what we want and ask for was never promised. It may not have been promised for all affected devices, but as they are all built around the MSM7200 and MSM7500 chipsets, they should have practically the same capabilities. The fact is, that the TyTN II's predecessor, the TyTN, is better at practically all things multimedia than these new devices are. Here are a few simple examples.
Note that these devices are more than capable to do all that we expect from them.
HTC Touch Cruise
As you can see below in the screenshot, or when you visit the page itself [HTC.com], HTC promises, among other things "an excellent multimedia experience" and "entertainment features including an FM radio, MP3 player and video playback". It's our opinion that the device offers neither an excellent multimedia experience nor video playback worthy of being called entertainment.
AT&T Tilt (HTC TyTN II)
Again, a "Rich media experience" is offered, but not delivered. Taken from this page [HTC.com].
Original HTC Press Release
Look at this press release from HTC itself, celebrating HTC's and Qualcomm's joint success, taken from this page [HTC.com].
This press release certainly implies these devices having VGA video encode/decode and 3D graphics.
